I modelled some buttons to go into the drilled holes, I only wanted them to be small. I drilled a 7mm hole in the shell using the template holes built into the shoulder button bracket.
I found a nice 3d printed bracket but I wanted to use soft touch buttons so I remixed it. I just needed to find away to add L and R buttons somewhere. Ive also found a great joystick library that I’ve linked to at the end of this post.Īs I was using a common ground board the Dpad and A B X Y start select buttons were taken care of. Because this board uses the Atmet atmega32u4 with built in HID capability its a breeze for this kind of projects. The original shell didn’t come with a battery cover so I used one that had on hand.Īs with all my USB controller projects they are built around the trusty Arduino pro micro. It did take a few days and several application but it came up trumps.
I used the Retr0bright method, I picked up some hair bleach 40v and left it out in the sun. The DMG shell came from a really yellowed DMG that I bought back in 2017 as my first DMG mod. Alot of 3d printed parts helps me out along the way. I wanted to put the parts to good use so I ended up deciding to build a USB controller. I had a few parts I had bought to build a DMG 103 but It didn’t work out.
